![]() ![]() owner says it overheated according to the the temp guage and the CTS sensor also.dash temp guage works right now, computer gets proper temp signal,Trac off light isn't on anymore.car runs like normal.except for other little problems.like window express switch, speedo.internal VSS problem, gas leak.Big clue to this problem was the live data from the computer showed the engine temp was -8 when it was hot 140 or so real temp.So the choke is fixed thats what I call the CTS because it will cause the car to stay in Open Loop if faulty.just like running with the choke on all the time. The O2 sensors were working because they had heated up so the computer got crazy uldn't handle it.Limp mode or Open Loop your choice.IF you have this problem clean up engine problems first.bad grounds electrical next.last security system.unless pinpointed problem on live data scan. The CTS on this car has 3 wires meaning it controls the dash temp guage also. Keep us informed as to what happens, please.Ok are you ready for this.get some popcorn and refreshments. This Buick comes in because it/s running real bad half power or less. I think you will be just fine though, watch the temperature gauge, and replace the low coolant sensor when you can. Keep an eye on the temperature gauge and if your vehicle starts to get hot, pull over right away and turn it off and let it cool down. Your vehicle should be just fine to drive. The temperature gauge is the important gauge here. If your temperature gauge never goes above the mid mark, I wouldn't worry to much about your low coolant light. On occasion, will need to crank more than usual to start, and sometimes coughs threw tail pipe during the crank, but has not failed to start yet,and usually happens after setting for sometimes, such as in morning or after work-only has 100k and runs fine after started. It is located on the right side of the radiator. When your vehicle has been sitting, say overnight, and is cold this is where your coolant level should be. When your vehicle is at normal running temperature(hot) this is where your coolant level should read. The overflow tank is where you add coolant to your vehicle s cooling system. I just live 2 miles from the store and my car didn't have time to get hot. Jiffy Lube advertises they will top off or flush out radiator but when I got there they said they couldn't ( because it was hot outside). They said they looked at my overflow and it was okay, but I didn't see them open it. I took it to Jiffy Lube the other day and they said since its hot outside they didn't want to chance the radiator spewing on them. My car does not run hot but the half way mark. They seemed to think it was a bad sensor and said they couldn't check it because it was in the bottom of the radiator! Can I check my overflow safely and if it's low will it hurt to add water? I haven't changed my antifreeze in 3 years ( it was professionally done). 2WD AUTOMATIC 82,000 MILES My low coolant light comes on when I drive my car. It is very hot where I live and going to be 95 degrees with a heat index of 105. I have an appointment In 2 days and scared to drive my car for fear of overheating and breaking down on the highway. My car does not run hot but the half way mark. Make sure your coolant is full in the resevoir and in the radiator. My low coolant light comes on when I drive my car. ![]()
